Election Kick-Off with Michael Ansara

  • Bemis Hall 15 Bedford Road Lincoln, MA 01773 (map)

Come and be inspired, hear ways to help elect the Dems, and LEARN!

Meet Michael Ansara, political organizer, longtime activist and poet whose work contributes to our understanding of justice and political choices and effectiveness.

Several of us heard this dynamic, knowledgeable, experienced Democratic organizer recently, and we thought he would be the perfect speaker to kick off Election 2024 in Lincoln.  We are so pleased that he will be with us on Saturday, September 14 at Bemis Hall. Come for coffee at 9:45, and Michael’s talk at 10 a.m., followed by a question and answer session.

Michael is on the Executive Committee of the Redress Movement,  the organizer for Together 2020, a board member of Massachusetts Indivisible, and a founder of Volunteer Blue.  Michael spent many years as an activist and an organizer starting with the civil rights movement of the 1960s, going on to be an organizer for SDS. He spent 10 years organizing opposition to the war in Vietnam. For 15 years, Michael was a community organizer, including directing Mass Fair Share. He has worked on political campaigns, coordinated voter registration efforts, and trained many organizers. He also owned and ran two successful businesses.

The co-founder of MA Poetry, his poems have appeared in numerous journals and his essays have appeared in Vox, Arrowsmith, Solstice and Cognoscenti.  He is currently working on a memoir.
